Accident Re-Creation
Challenge: Ctrl Z Studios was asked to develop an animation to demonstrate neck injuries in a medium velocity automobile accident.
Solution: In order to obtain the objective, a skeletal representaion was used inside of the modeled automobile, in lieu of a fully modeled and clothed person. This made it simpler to visualize the impact to the critical neck vertebrae. Other effects included making the door and hood of the vehicle translucent so that the full impact of the accident could be appreciated. Finally the accident was set on a "crash test" backdrop versus life like scenery to add focus of the animation to the key components.
